Design DNA

The Watch Angels B-Uhr design DNA is found in its traditional "Baumuster B" type dial. The dial design of the monopusher chronograph B-Uhr is identical to that of a 3 hands B-Uhr when the chronograph is not activated. This effect has been reached by having the central chronograph hand, the 30min chronograph hand and the elapsed time marker perfectly overlap when the chronograph is inactive.

Additionally, the watch can be immediately recognized by the open case-back which reveals the antimagnetic soft iron cage that is engraved with the military identification markings.

Monopusher

For additional pilot functions and true mission usability. With a monopusher the pilot can start, stop and reset the chronograph by pushing the same button. A seamless and fast way of operating the chronograph which does not require to shift from one button to the other.

The Watch Angels B-Uhr encases a Sellita SW500 MPCb automatic monopusher chronograph chronometer caliber.

COSC Chronometer

To meet the B-Uhr precision specifications, the movement is an officially certified COSC (Contrôle officiel suisse des chronomètres) chronometer.

The movement is tested for 15 days at three different temperatures and in five different positions (3 o’clock, 6 o’clock, 9 o’clock, dial on top, dial on the bottom) with an average daily rate tollerance of −4/+6 seconds.

Antimagnetic

For consistent high precision, and in compliance with the original B-Uhr specifications, the movement is fitted into a soft iron cage to protect it from magnetic fields. The cage, which also features the identification markings, can be seen through the open case-back.

Crown & pusher

The chronograph pusher is intergated within the oversized crown. Desite being oversized, it has been kept to a size which assures optimal wearer comfort and allows operation with gloves, a requirement for a B-Uhr.

Power indicator

To know if the watch is powered, a moving disk at 9 o'clock shows this information at glance.

Historically, the observation watch was conceived and built for purpose. It was made and specified to aid seafarers and pilots to navigate at sea and in the air. Our approach has been to respect the original B-Uhr specifications but to execute them like if the B-Urh would have first been made today. With todays technology and todays aesthetic codes.

Chronometric precision, perfect dan and night readability, anti-magnetism and an oversized crown are are all present in this 2022 B-Uhr, however the design and construction additionally take great care in assuring wearer comfort as well as fucntional and every day usability.

Diamond like carbon

The Stealth model is DLC coated. DLC (diamond like carbon) coating is a nanocomposite coating which increases the durability and longevity of the stainless steel surface. By increasing the hardness of the surface it protects the case and parts from scratches and the effects of wear and tear.

Super luminous

Superluminova® pigments are Swiss made and offer the strongest possible afterglow performance. The pigments are non-radioactive, REACH compatible, highly temperature resistant and resistant to environmental influences.

Grade X1 used on the B-Uhr shows a performance increase of up to 60% after two hours compared to standard grades. Long term legibility according to the ISO 3157 standard is extended by at least a factor of 1.6.

Setting elapsed time with the bezel

The bezel integrates a purposely built mechanical system to position the elapsed time marker which is printed on the turning disk of the 30min chronograph counter. Press down and turn the bezel to set the marker.
